The new temperature-controlled food storage warehouse increases the company’s storage capacity in Brazil by 20%.

Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm), the largest temperature-controlled food storage and logistics company in Latin America, inaugurated their second cold storage facility in Guarulhos, in the metropolitan area of São Paulo. The entire building becomes the company’s largest temperature-controlled food storage warehouse in Latin America, representing a 20% increase in its storage capacity in Brazil.

The new facility expands the already-operational warehouse on-site, with a total storage capacity of 51,000 pallets distributed over a total area of 347,000 cubic meters. This expansion is part of the company’s investment plan in Brazil and further solidifies Emergent Cold LatAm as the fastest-growing company in this industry.

With the new facility, the company expects to create around 300 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs, positively impacting the local economy. “The combined capacity of the two warehouses in Guarulhos represents one of the largest temperature-controlled storage facilities in Greater São Paulo,” said Evandro Calanca, Managing Director for the South Cone region at Emergent Cold LatAm.

“By building this, we aim to meet the growing demand from food producers and retailers operating in the country, offering storage and distribution services in a strategically located facility close to the airport, and supported by an important transport network,” explained the Managing Director.

To meet the growing demand for temperature-controlled food storage and distribution services, Emergent Cold Latam currently operates 78 facilities across 11 countries in Latin America. The company operates in Brazil in six states (Paraná, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo).

“The expansion of Emergent Cold Latam in Guarulhos reflects our commitment to providing the highest quality temperature-controlled storage infrastructure, ensuring strategic logistical support for Brazil’s supply and retail sectors. With meaningful investments in new facilities and warehouse modernization, we intend to strengthen our leadership position further and continue expanding in strategic urban centers across Latin America,” added David Palfenier, President of Emergent Cold LatAm.
