In a short time, the company has established itself as the largest provider of temperature-controlled logistics solutions in Latin America.
Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm), the region’s largest provider of temperature-controlled food storage and logistics solutions, celebrated its third anniversary of operations with a series of town hall meetings. Lead by Co-Founders Neal Rider and David Palfenier, these employee gatherings provided an opportunity to reflect on the Company’s growth and success since launching in 2021.
Highlights of the Company’s accomplishments include:
- 19 completed acquisitions, making Emergent Cold LatAm the most active strategic buyer in Latin America cold storage.
- 7 completed greenfield and expansions projects; with another nine projects in active development.
- Employer of more than 3,000 warehouse associates across the region; and
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability with nine EDGE Advanced certified buildings and one EDGE Zero Carbon facility.
“David and I had ambitious goals for this Latin American investment vehicle, however these past three years have exceeded our expectations,” said Rider. “This achievement would not be possible without the incredible talent and commitment of our team, made up of over 3,000 employees across the 11 countries where we operate. Just as important, we are grateful for the support and guidance of our Board and investors, such as Lineage, Stonepeak, D1 Capital, and Losa Group, among others.”
An important contributing factor to Emergent Cold LatAm’s success is selecting the right regional relationships, such as the alliance with DP World Logistics, a global provider of end-to-end supply chain solutions. Through this relationship, the Company developed and launched new cold storage facilities within three DP Word port locations in key strategic markets: Duran (Ecuador), Caucedo (Dominican Republic) and our most recent opening in Callao (Peru).
“Our investment thesis is perhaps stronger today than it was three years ago when Neal and I launched Emergent Cold LatAm,” added Palfenier. “Latin America not only has robust organic growth, it is vital to the world’s food supply chain and the top global exporter across a range of agricultural products. We bring modern infrastructure, jobs, and new customer solutions to the markets where we operate. I am extremely proud of this team and our accomplishments.”
