Emergent Cold LatAm Adds Capacity in Strategic Market with New Facility in Monterrey, Mexico

The Company’s first completed greenfield project in the country is part of a comprehensive and multi-year investment plan.

Emergent Cold LatAm, the largest temperature-controlled food logistics and storage company in Latin America, today announced the inauguration of its first cold storage facility built from the ground up in Mexico. Located in Ciénega de Flores, in the Monterrey region, the facility has the capacity to store 23,000 pallets, approximately 23,000 tons of food, within a 150,000 m³ space.

This construction is part of the company’s investment plan in Mexico and reinforces its position as the fastest-growing company in the industry. With this new facility, the company expects to create approximately 80 direct jobs and 250 indirect jobs, positively impacting the economy of Nuevo León and the country.

“This operation aims to meet the growing demand from food producers and retailers operating in Mexico, providing storage and distribution services in a strategically located facility supported by a robust transportation network,” said Juan Pablo Benítez, Emergent Cold Latam’s Managing Director for Mexico. “We are also tracking demand in Nuevo León and across the country, which resulted in last year’s expansions of our warehouses in Apodaca and Villagrán (Guanajuato), and our current greenfield project in Guadalajara, Jasisco.”

Emergent Cold LatAm began operations in Mexico in September 2022 with its first acquisition. Today, the company operates 35 multi-temperature warehouses in Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Baja California, Estado de México, and Mexico City.

“The new Emergent Cold LatAm warehouse in Monterrey reflects our commitment to providing the highest-quality temperature-controlled storage infrastructure, ensuring strategic logistics support for the food and retail industries in Mexico,” added David Palfenier, President of Emergent Cold LatAm. “Through significant investments in new facilities and warehouse modernization, we plan to continue our leadership role in bringing best-in-class cold chain infrastructure to Lain America and expanding our footprint in strategic urban centers across the region.”
