This facility represents the beginning of operations in a new region.
Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm), the largest provider of temperature-controlled logistics and storage services for food in Latin America, announced the construction of a food warehouse in Guadalajara, expanding its operations to a new region in Mexico.
The new facility will have a capacity of 12,000 pallet positions and will be installed in a 30,000 square meter area, with enough space for future expansions that could double the storage capacity.
Guadalajara is located in the western part of the country and, considering the population size, is the third-largest city in Mexico. The new food warehouse will also be strategic in facilitating customer connections to the ports of Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas.
Juan Pablo Benitez, the Managing Director of Emergent Cold LatAm in Mexico, highlighted the company’s rapid growth in the country and the significance of recent investments: “We are responding to customer demand and are committed to offering temperature-controlled food storage and value-added services in all areas where customers seek modern infrastructure and high-quality logistical services.”
Recently, the company completed the expansion of two food warehouses located in Villagrán (Guanajuato) and Apodaca and is building a facility in Monterrey. These three projects represent an increase of almost 34,000 positions.
Emergent Cold LatAm began operations in Mexico in September 2022 with the acquisition of Bajo Cero and, in January of the following year, announced the acquisition of Qualianz. Currently, there are more than 30 strategically located warehouses, from Mexico City to Tijuana, with a capacity of over 1 million cubic meters and nearly 200,000 pallet positions for refrigerated and frozen foods.
