Emergent Cold LatAm Expands Cold Storage Network with New Planned Facility in Santiago, Dominican Republic

Located in Parque Circunvalación Norte, the new facility will strengthen the company’s logistics and distribution infrastructure in the country’s northern region.

Emergent Cold LatAm, Latin America’s leading provider of temperature-controlled storage and logistics services, announced the construction of a new cold storage facility in the Dominican Republic, strategically located in Santiago de los Caballeros at Parque Circunvalación Norte.

The new facility will add 16,000 pallet positions in two phases, expanding the company’s chilled and frozen storage capacity in the country, creating more than 70 new jobs and helping to strengthen the supply chain for food and other temperature-sensitive products. Opening is scheduled for Summer 2027.

With this investment, Emergent Cold LatAm continues its ambitious growth plan for the island country. It includes operations at the Port of Caucedo, Parque Industrial Duarte in Santo Domingo, and the new Santiago facility, bringing total capacity to 43,000 pallet positions of temperature-controlled capacity in the country, providing customers with more efficient, safe, and integrated solutions. This network enables the company to serve key locations across the country, from its main port hub to the Santo Domingo market and the northern region. Future plans include a project in Punta Cana, one of the Dominican Republic’s leading tourism, commercial, and consumer hubs.

“This project in Santiago represents a strategic step for Emergent Cold LatAm and a clear demonstration of our confidence in the Dominican Republic,” said Pedro Bretón, BU Head of Emergent Cold LatAm in the Dominican Republic. “We are investing in infrastructure that will enable our customers to store and distribute their products more efficiently and safely, while reinforcing our commitment to developing an increasingly modern, integrated, and customer-centric logistics network in the country.”

Juan Pablo Benítez, Managing Director of Emergent Cold LatAm for Mexico and the Caribbean, highlighted Santiago’s strategic importance to the company’s logistics network. “The new facility will allow us to expand our capacity, get even closer to our customers, and provide comprehensive temperature-controlled storage and distribution solutions.”
